*What I'm about to share with you is something even many Chinese folks themselves don't know*
To the uninitiated, a Bagua is just a Bagua. In reality, there are two variations, and both must undergo the 'Opening of Light' (Consecration) process using their respective, unique incantations.

I truly hope this article can also reach as many Chinese folks as possible. Every year, thousands of people buy Bagua pendants and mirrors to hang in their homes or wear for protection. Yet, most have no idea that these sacred symbols need to be activated, with an incantation and there are two distinct mantras: one for Pre-Heaven and one for Post-Heaven.
It is a tragedy that such vital spiritual knowledge has been lost or overlooked by so many who love these Taoist symbols but aren't Taoist Spiritual Practitioners themselves. Today, people buy cheap trinkets from online platforms or Feng Shui shops, sold by salespeople who aren't Taoist Masters or Sorcerers. They are buying items vomited out by factories by the millions—pieces that have never seen a proper, one-by-one consecration.
While I can’t reach everyone, I feel a responsibility to share this truth with those who are fated to read this. If you own a Bagua, it’s time to move beyond the trinket and understand the power.
In this article, I am showing you the "activation codes" that have been kept within specialized lineages for centuries. We aren’t just looking at symbols; we are learning the mechanical difference between Pre-Heaven and Post-Heaven energies. One is a primordial storm used to clear out the darkest forces; the other is a sophisticated guardian of your daily peace and harmony.
Be warned: you must know the difference, because using the wrong power for the wrong job is a mistake you don't want to make.

Understand The Similarity & Differences Between the 2 Incantations
1. The Common Foundation (The "Same" Portion)
These are the "Universal Authorization" codes. Both incantations use these to establish the practitioner's authority and call in the celestial guards.
Regardless of which Bagua you use, these lines remain the same:
The Top Portion:
拜请八卦祖师敕灵灵 (Humbly requesting the Ancestral Master of the Eight Trigrams to command with divine spirit.)
统领天兵神将六/四明 (Leading the Heavenly Troops and Divine Generals of the Six/Four Clarities.)
先天后天随两边 (With the Pre-Heaven and Post-Heaven forces following on both sides.)
天罗地网开奉请 (Opening the Net of Heaven and Earth as we respectfully invite the presence.)
乾元亨利贞显灵 (Invoking the four virtues of the Heaven Trigram—Origin, Prosperity, Furthest, and Perseverance—to manifest their divinity.
金木水火土五行 (Activating the Five Elements: Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth.)
The Lower Portion:
太极两仪镇中央 六十四卦排布阵 (The Taiji and Two Polarities guard the center; the 64 Hexagrams are set in array.)
妖邪鬼魅 化浮尘 六丁六甲左边守 天兵天降右侧护 (Evil spirits and ghosts turn to floating dust; the Six Ding and Six Jia spirits guard the left; Heavenly Troops protect the right.)
吾奉老君真敕令 敕下神宝八卦钱 (I follow the true command of Lord Lao Zi; I decree the power into this Eight Trigrams Coin.)
镇人人长生 镇宅 (车) 皆安宁 灵光照分明 鬼神走不停 (Protecting the person for longevity; protecting the home [or car] for peace; the spiritual light shines clearly; ghosts and gods flee without stopping.)
神兵火急如律令 急急如律令 (Celestial troops, act with the speed of fire, as the law decrees! Swiftly, swiftly, according to the command!)
The Active Catalysts (The "Difference" Portions)
The Pre-Heaven "Sword" (Martial & Destructive)
This portion invokes the raw, primordial elements to attack and destroy. It is about spiritual warfare.
The Power of Heaven: Commands troops to war (干卦统天兵).
The Power of Earth: Actively slays demons (坤卦斩妖精).
The Power of Thunder: Moves the heavenly army (震雷动天兵).
The Power of Fire: Burns the evil spirits (离火烧邪魔).
The Power of Lake/Marsh: Heroic troops to suppress evil (兑泽英雄兵).
The Power of Wind: Blows through mountains to chase spirits (巽风吹山岳...追邪兵).
The Power of Mountain: Shows divine might to seal "Ghost Roads" (艮山展威灵...封鬼路).
The Power of Water: Absorbs a thousand blessings to wash away filth (坎水纳千祥...秽气化无踪).
The Result: A "Cosmic Storm" that hunts down and eradicates negative entities.
The Post-Heaven "Shield" (Administrative & Harmonic)
This portion assigns a "General" or "Lord" to each of the eight physical directions. It is about territorial control and peace.
1st Command: Northwest General (乾卦西北将)
2nd Command: Water General of the North (坎卦水将军)
3rd Command: Spiritual Power of the Northeast (艮卦东北灵)
4th Command: Wood Star Lord of the East (震卦木星君)
5th Command: Southeast Troops (巽卦东南兵)
6th Command: Fire Dragon God of the South (离卦火龙神)
7th Command: Southwest Brightness (坤卦西南明)
8th Command: Golden Star descending in the West (兑卦金星降)
The Result: A perfectly balanced "Grid of Protection" for a physical space.
The Difference Portion is the Instruction: It tells the Gods whether you want them to "Go to War" (Pre-Heaven) or "Guard the Door" (Post-Heaven)
