Miserable state of "Taoist Magic" (more like children hocus-pocus story books) from Western Countries...

        Some Westerners who don't know the Chinese Language - can't read, speak, nor write Chinese characters, are blindly copying Taoist Talismans they come across and start publishing "Taoist Talismans" English Magic Books. 

        Firstly, there are several missing strokes of Chinese characters in the Talismans. Those foreigners and also quite many Oversea Chinese, who cannot read and write Chinese, still think those "Taoist Magic" English Books are legit stuffs. 

        Secondly, there are several secret chants to be spoken in Chinese Language, be it Mandarin or any Chinese Dialects, when creating and empowering Taoist Talismans. WIthout knowing any Chinese languages, how to empower the useless "Drawings" with missing strokes of Chinese Characters?

        Imagine using Taoist Spirit Medium Chants translated in English Language to call upon the Chinese Deities to possess the Taoist Spirit Mediums. The Chinese deities will not come and also will offend the Chinese Deities greatly.

In Taiwan, Hokkien is used in Taoist Rituals / Sorcery / Spirit Mediums. 

In Hong Kong , Cantonese is used in Taoist Rituals / Sorcery. 

In Malaysia, Hokkien is popularly used for Taoist Rituals / Sorcery / Spirit Mediums. There are also Teochew, Cantonese, Hakka, Hainanese Language, depending on the Chinese Communities.

In Indonesia, Hakka and Hokkien are popularly used for Taoist Rituals / Sorcery / Spirit Mediums. There is also the Teochew Language. 

In Thailand, Teochew and Hokkien are popularly used for Taoist Rituals / Sorcery / Spirit Mediums.

In Singapore, Hokkien is popularly used for Taoist Rituals / Spirit Mediums. In Singapore, most younger generation practitioners can help, guide and explain to You in English.

Important Note: There are Simplified Chinese Characters and  Traditional Chinese Characters. Learning China Chinese Mandarin will be read and written in Simplified Chinese Characters but Taoist Talismans should use Traditional Chinese Characters.  So, You may have to learn both simplified and traditional Chinese characters.
